​New Zealand 2015 Friendly: Brazil Edge Australia

Nigeria's opening match opponents Brazil completed their preparation for the New Zealand 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup on a winning note with a 1-0 win over the 10-man Young Socceroos on Wednesday.

A stunning strike from Joao Pedro from well outside the 18-yard box just 15 minutes in sealed the South Americans' win at WIN Stadium shortly after Brandon Borrello was handed his marching orders on the hour mark following a second yellow.

Brazil begin their World Cup campaign against Nigeria on Monday and coach Rogerio Micale was satisfied with his team's display.

"I am very happy with what we presented in Australia, mainly with the conduct of the players in the friendlies and trainings.

“We created a lot of chances and could have won by a bigger score. Also we were tested in defence, which was great for our preparation."
