Japanese side Sanfrecce Hiroshima have completed the loan signing of Nigeria striker Peter Utaka from Shimizu S-Pulse, the J-League first division side has revealed.
The 31-year-old Utaka, a former Nigeria international who scored nine goals in 28 games last season, will play for Hiroshima through January 2017.
And the former Nigerian international has expressed his delight at his new adventure having featured for clubs in Belgium Denmark and China.
"I'm thankful to God for this opportunity. It's a new chapter for me Sanfrecce," he wrote via his instagram wall.
J. League champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima will kick off the 2016 first stage at home to Kawasaki Frontale as the league on Wednesday released the opening day fixtures for the upcoming season.
Having emerged top-scorer in the Belgian Second Division with 22 goals in 34 games in the 2007–08 season and in the 2009–10 in the Danish Superliga with 18 goals in 33 games, the former Dalian Aerbin star hopes to score more goals for his team.
