Wolves Edge Abia Warriors In Five-Goal Thriller

By Adeboye Amosu

Hosts Warri Wolves secured a hard fought 3-2 win against Abia Warriors at the Warri City Stadium in a rescheduled week 10 Glo Premier League tie on Friday.

A brace from former Kwara and Enyimba forward Micheal Okoyoh ensured the Seasiders secured their fourth win of the campaign.

The first half ended 1-0 with U-23 Eagles striker Oghenekaro Etebo opening scoring for the home side.

Abia Warriors however restored  parity on 58 minutes with enterprising forward Chisom Chikatara slamming the ball home after Wolves goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi spilled Bolaji Sakin's goa- bound shot.

The Ladan Bosso-handled Warriors shocked their hosts when they went into the lead through Sakin in the 75th minute.

It was however the home side who rallied back to win the game with Okoyoh completing his brace in the last minute of the entertaining duel.

Wolves, coached by Paul Aigbogun, are now seventh in the league table.
