Super Eagles coach,Shaibu Amodu has exonerated himself from Nigeria’s lethargic display in yesterday’s 3-1 loss to defending Africa Cup of Nations champions,Egypt.
Rather the former BCC Lions of Gboko coach is blaming the players for committing elementary errors despite taking the lead via Chinedu Obasi,the player that was forced on the coach by Nigeria Football Federation technical sub-committee head a day after the January 1 deadline set by CAF for submition of players list for the on-going 27th Africa Cup of Nations.
“We played well and controlled the game especially in the first half but somehow we made some silly mistakes and we were punished’,said Amodu at the post match press conference Amodu was silent over his decision to field players who have either not played competitive football for over a month or have not been regular with their clubs in Europe.
He also refused to comment on why he fielded Yusuf Mohammed where Chidi Odiah was fit and ready to play.

The Man Amodu should take the whole blame for the woes of the team. His team selection and substitutions were faulty. What contribution did Nwaneri, Yussuf Mohammed and Taye Taiwo make in the match? A Chidi Ordia was benched for 90mins, Elderson also was benched (these are better players than the two aformentioned) whereas Adeleye was dropped entirely from the team. It’s so sad that at the level in world football, our NFF can afford to toy with the administration of the team. If Amodu continues as coach, I’m afraid we are going to exit the world cup with no point. (Amodu should also remember to return the Kia Jeep given to him by the PTF)

The problem I have with this so called Lulu and Ogunjobi is the way they insult about 75% of soccer fans who having been clamouring that Amodu is outdated to be a national team coach by giving him a jeep and two million naira added to that they confused everybody by their analysis that he never lost a match in 13 years. Cameroon lost to a Gabon team that did not play and it will be business as usual tomorrow. Algeria lost to Malawi the other day and their camp is still united.
When are we ever going to learn to stop putting unnecessary pressure on our team? We lost to Egypt for God’s sake. A team that has been together for God knows how long, and definitely not in the league of Malawi and Gabon.
Eagles will go on and win their remaining matches to progress and if we put our defence in shape can challenge for the trophy from the matches I have seen and watched so far. Hope is definitely not lost.

prince you are a deciver how can a coach stand by the pole for 94mins not even telling the players what to do. when i played school football the coach at least will tell you that you can not play for 10min without looking on him to know if their is something extra he want you to do. when player look at GAUDROLA BARCA coach ,Morinjo inter coach and other good coaches they will stand up and correct players to avoid big mistakes. AMU ODU did not even come near the line until after the match even when we need tactical game then you call him a coach . how many players there have first team shrit in their respective clubs . only Obasi, osazee, chidi odia , some of this fly egals have figthing sprit more than this sticks , how many dribling did ayegbeni, kalu ,mikel did only obasi and that is the goal

If you need rehabilitation then it has to start from the glass house down to the coaching crew and finally super eagles. Without mincing words we need coach Samson Siasia to assume managerial responsibility over the Super Eagles immediately after the Nations Cup if we’re to make an impact in the coming world cup in South Africa.
