FOOTBALL:
Super Eagles technical adviser, Lars Lagerback has proposed a pre-World Cup training camp in Switzerland where the Eagles will stay to prosecute all their three exhibition games in London in May against Paraguay (May 15),Colombia (May 26) and Ukraine on May 29.
The Swede returned to Nigeria last night to officially resume work and will be one of the key speakers in today’s Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, seminar for coaches. He is also scheduled to return to Europe before next week where he will begin consultations with some Super Eagles players playing in Europe.
Lagerback however submitted his World Cup programme on-line before returning to Abuja last night where he was received by Eagles team secretary, Dayo Enebi and team coordinator, Emmanuel Attah.
In the programme exclusively made available to Complete Sports in Abuja, the Swede wants the Switzerland camp to enable the team have the needed altitude training close to what they will experience in South Africa when the World Cup starts on June 11.
He also proposed that the Swiss camp will serve as base from where the Eagles will fly into London to prosecute the three international exhibition games lined-up for them ahead the FIFA Mundial.
Complete Sports also learnt that the Swiss camp will open as early as May 10 for players who are through with club commitments in Europe while only those whose clubs qualify for cup games final like the UEFA Champions League which will be played in Madrid on May 17 will be exempted from hitting camp early. The Eagles are expected to leave for their World Cup base camp from London on May 30,a day after the friendly game against Ukraine.
The new Eagles manager, Complete Sports gathered has a dossier on close to 70 Nigeria players plying their trade in various leagues in Europe, especially some with dual nationality who before now have being undecided on the issue of wearing Nigeria’s green and white jersey.
invite and use rabiu ubrahim as the attacking midfileder instead of mikel and play mikel at the defending part because tht is the pattern mikel plays now in chelsea and wen invited by former country coaches they try use him as attackin midfielder and he rely disappoint at tht post on the pitch
Now,this is how to plan.We will likely get results from this Lars of a man.All Nigeria needed was a coach who has organization, planning, struture, and a vision. No guarantees of automatic shirts, and no sentiments.Watch Naija soccer rebound big time in the coming months.
IThe fact that he has either expressly or impliedly told the SE that all shirts are open for a grab is a good omen for Nigeria fans globally. That is very important in that everyone will have to fight for it. No automatic inclusion. Competion is always good. And it also look like he is organized, and organized people tend to be discipline, that may help us too. Let us pray all goes well for him in his pursuit of returning SE lost glory
I am highly delighted with approach of lagerback.
He is purposeful, focused and serious about Nigeria’s World cup campaign.
Lets support him

he have something to over, let support him and pray for dis nation.
Lars from his preliminary approach he is a God sent to revive the supereagle. If he continues in this fashion, no matter the outcome of the worldcup, let him continue building the team. Avoid taking big names to the world cup only to warm the bench.
Let’s pray and believe that this man will bring back the lost glory of Nigeria Football. He appears headed in the right direction, showing some foresight.
Let’s give him all the support he needs to succeed. Nigerians are tired of accepting apologies for failure from NFF. Whatever is needed to post a good outing at the SA 2010 should be given including selecting Players on merit. No quota system but the best .
where are all those stupid amodu supporters who think every thing must be by national quota
until we learn to throw our stupid beliefe that my kins man should be better than a stranger,we will never be able to achieve anything as a nation
see jos,mad mallas believe others have no right to live
so our rulers
all their family members are robbing us dead
naija i hail the p/s if i see any rubbish on here from any fool claiming how much he would die with amodu,I will sue that person
Thank you guys, for the first time in several months on this forum, everybody spoke with one voice. Yes this is how it should be, we cannot be seeing only negative side of things everytime. We need to praise good work when we see it.Thank you Lars for stating well and renew our hope in SE. Good Nation Good People. Eagles welcome to your new life.
Great approach to compete at the world cup. But alas! sweet plan don’t lead to success but implementation and implementors. Bring an ‘angel’ to coach the eagles, if their is no commitment on the part of the players there won’t be success. Nigerians are funny set of people, they are those who would hail you in the morning and crucify you in the night. Largerback should becareful of Nigerian fans, for they are just like wind. They praised so many coaches before him and later called their heads. They are just like Real madrid fans when things are not going on well. As I aways say, eagles problem is part of Nigeria’s problem, until we get at Aso Rock nothing would work.

great plan and good vision, hope some good homebase players are part of this plan, goodluck lars i and millions of good soccer loving nigerians wish u the best as u turn nigeria dwindling soccer round for good welcome.
Good!! I wish things contonue like this. God bless Nigeria
Some foolish ppl are now telling the new coach who to play n where to play him. May God help us all.
I wish him well
Gullible people, which coach in Nigeria does not know that you go to camp, and acclimatise, even secondary school boys know. You are just fooling yourselves the only reason why you are blabbing is because he is white. If it is Amodu or another Local Coach that says he wants early camping, the NFF, Presidential Task force and sport Ministry will use witchcraft to take the program out of his hand they will stigmatize him through the help of paid pressmen and you gullible country men will swallow any accusation against the local coach. They will say he cannot determine which hotel to stay, players to use, etc this guy will select his team a month to the World Cup. He will gamble with the few friendly matches maybe just two quality matches, when will the first team get tested before the World Cup. We have called Amodu Mumu several times, you call an achiever mumu, we will soon know who the mumu is after the world cup.
Nigerians have come again!!!!!! How i wish we can allow this coach to play his first game before praising him, why can’t we be cautious for a little bit? is this the first time we wil be having foreing TA? we should not be bamboozed with his credentials, we seem to have forgotten that this man has not coached any where other than his native land before, afterall he spent 10years coaching his country (with most of the players he knew from age group level) and going to 5major tournaments but without great achievement (we should not forget that Sweden got to world cup semi-final before him) so what can he achieve here within 2months? that the NFF is playing us 419 and setting him a semi-final target for i believe we should wait and see the product of his work first. LET THOSE THAT HAVE EARS HEAR, THE STONE THE BUILDERS REJECT SHALL SHALL BECOME THEIR CORNER STONE.
I am surprised with the way some people are praising Lars!!! Has he done anything? Are you saying if the job is giving to a secondary school coach, the coach won’t know that there suppose be a camp in a foreign land. Men, to me I am praying for eagles to bounce back to the time of GLORY but not in the way you guys are looking at it. Anybody can plan, RESULT is the KEY, and I am very sure that you guys praising him will also be the one to curse him immediately he starts fumbling…..good approach, plan, let’s pray and hope it works finr for us. Many regards!!!
OMO MEN this Lar man be the best of coach oh .. he has great plan for 9ja football oh !
Kudos to Lars for this grate plan, may the Almigty God back you up. My advice to Mr.Lars is for him to establish discipline, no nonsence,no big boys and he should not allow dictatorship. With these sky is your limit.
What a grate plan, carry go, God will see you through. But try to implement discipline, no big boys and no to dictatorship.
