2016 Olympics Basketball: D’Tigers Draw Argentina, Brazil, Spain In‎ Group B

Nigeria’s men’s basketball team, D’Tigers have been drawn in Group B along with Argentina, Spain and Brazil in the men's basketball event of 2016 Olympic Games  billed to hold in Rio, Brazil next ummer, can report.


According the results of the draw held at the House of Basketball in Switzerland on Friday, Nigeria will battle host nation Brazil and European power house Spain, who had excellent qualifying tournament for the Olympics.


According to FIBA, six teams are in each group, but only nine have qualified so far, while the remaining three countries which will produce two for Group A and one for group B will emerge from the Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament holding in June.

In Group A, United States of America, Venezuela, China and Australia will slug it out, while two teams from the qualifying tournament will join them.


It would be recalled that Nigeria won the last Afrobasket to qualify for the Olympic Games for the second time running. can also report that the team under Coach Ayo Bakare featured in the 2012 Olympics in London and it was a jinx breaking event for the country.
