Assistant coach of Nigeria's U-23 national football team, Fatai Amoo has warned other Group B teams in the men's football event of the 2016 Olympics in Rio that the 'Dream Team VI' are on a mission to reclaim the title they won in 1996, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Nigeria were on Thursday paired alongside Colombia, Japan and Sweden in Group B, but Amoo insists that even if the team were drawn again dangerous teams, there will not be palpitations in the Nigerian team.
"The draw wasn't a bad one. But the teams we are going to play are not going to be easy nonetheless.
"We are not really bothered about the team we play in the group stages. Which ever teams, we have to play. It doesn't matter.
If it was Colombia, Japan, Sweden or even Brazil and Argentina," Amoo said emphatically.
"What we need to do is to prepare well, play some friendlies. We have a very good team. So we believe we can replicate the feat of the 1996 side," Amoo, a former banker told Completesportsnigeria.com.
The U-23 Eagles will effectively begin their preparation for the 2016 Toulon tournament scheduled to hold in France between May 18 and 29.
