Swaziland head coach Harris Bulunga has admitted that the changes made by his counterpart Sunday Oliseh in the Super Eagles’ midfield worked against their game plan in his side's 2-0 World Cup qualifier defeat on Tuesday.
After sharing the spoils with the Eagles last Friday on home turf, Oliseh dropped Mikel Obi, Elderson Echiejile and Godfrey Oboabona and those changes turned out to be the visitors’ undoing as admitted by Bulunga after the encounter.
“First of all I would like to congratulate the Super Eagles on their win. Their quality showed but the unfortunate thing is we conceded both goals from set pieces and it’s something we have to work on," Bulunga said.
“Our game plan worked very well initially. We came here to try and contain them and stay compact and maybe get one break and score, hoping to secure at least a goal but unfortunately when we were going all out they scored the killer goal.
“Unfortunately for us the coach (Oliseh) was smart enough to make some changes that we had hoped to capitalize on having noticed the lapses in the first leg.
“For example their (Nigeria) midfield was very slow in the first leg, so I planned to capitalize on that but he changed and put on the No.18 (Paul Onobi) and that affected our whole set-up.
“He (Onobi) was aggressive, he was quick. The left-back was also one of the new players that we didn’t expect so I believe he (Oliseh) saw his own weaknesses in the first leg because we had planned against those players that we saw but he made a smart decision.”4years ago My wife left me,because i was too WEAK in bed,but today she calls me Bed Champion. Now i finally discovered a Natural Solution that forces women to ask for more.
