Niger Plan Morocco Friendly Ahead of Home Eagles Clash

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Nigeria’s group opponents at the 2016 Africa Nations Championship, Niger, could prepare for the competition meant for players based in their home countries with a friendly against Morocco.

The Niger Football Association have informed their Moroccan counterparts of their intention to have a friendly between Niger and Morocco before the Championship in Rwanda.

This was revealed by GazzettaGhana.com who also claimed that Morocco had planned to play against Ethiopia but was eventually dissuaded from going ahead due to the high altitude in Ethiopia.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play against Niger in their first Group C game of the Championship on January 18, 2016 at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo Stadium, Kigali.

The Eagles won bronze in their debut appearance in 2014 when South Africa hosted the Championship.
