They are expected to square up against another CHAN participant, Cote d’lvoire, in a friendly game on January 9 in Pretoria.

Another friendly tie against Angola is already lined up for the team by the Nigeria Football Federation.

The Eagles opening game at the competition is against Niger on January 18 at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo.

They will also face Guinea and Tunisia in their other group games.

  1. Now that the head coach, Sunday Oliseh is unable to be with the team due to illness (May God heal him, it can happen to anyone), I think he should throw in the towel. It’s not enough to be coaching the team through Skype from his sick bed. A coach must be physically present with the team to make a meaningful impact on the squad. In addition, such scenario could make the squad suffer some damaging psychological setbacks.
