Ameobi Grabs Rare Assist In Bolton Victory; Ambrose, Anichebe Win

Former Nigeria international Shola Ameobi registered a rare assist on Tuesday night as Bolton defeated Eastleigh 3-2 in an FA Cup third round replay at the Macron Stadium.

Ameobi was introduced for Gary Madine on 52 minutes.

The Super Eagles 2014 World Cup star assisted one of Bolton’s goals, his first assist in English football since 2012.

Also on Tuesday night, Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose featured for Celtic who thrashed Hamilton Academical 8-1 in a Scottish Premiership game on Tuesday night.

Ambrose saw action for 90 minutes for the current Scottish league champions.

Goals from Mikael Lustig, Nir Bitton, Tom Rogic, James Forrest, Callum McGregor and Leigh Griffiths (hat-trick), sealed the emphatic win for Celtic.

In the English FA Cup third round replay, West Brom pipped Bristol City 1-0, thanks to Salomon Rondon’s 52nd minute goal.

Victor Anichebe was in the starting line-up but later made way for Rickie Lambert on 90 minutes.
