Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan have tendered unreserved apology to Kadiri Ikhana over the assault on him by a fan after Sunday's Glo Premier League match between hosts, 3SC and visiting Enyimba which ended goaless at Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, reports Completesportsnigeria.com
Ikhana was attacked by an angry spectator as he made his out of the stadium after the explosive match.
The former Kano Pillars gaffer was kicked down while his attacker also tried to grab his gold-plated wrist watch.
General Manager of 3SC, Rasheed Balogun who personally issued the apology to Ikhana, Enyimba Footbll Club and League Management Company, revealed that the supporters club of 3SC have informed him they knew who crried out the dastardly act and are ready to help police in tracking him down.
"It was a sponsored act aimed at bringing the present mangement of 3SC down, even Ikhana himself said his attacker was sponsored," Balogun said.
"The supporters club have told me, and my personal investigation has revealed it was sponsored.
"The good thing is that he is a known person and the supporters have assured me they will assist police in tracking him down.
"We don't have any problem with Enyimba. When they were coming into the Stadium, they were beating their drums singing 'Nzogbu, Nzogbu, Enyimba, Enyi' which our supporters joined in singing and dancing.
"It was sad that the incident happened. We apologise to Ikhana, we apologise to Enyimba and we apologise to LMC.
"We must fish out the culprit with the support of the police, the supporters club to ensure he was brought to book," Balogun emphasized.
