Shooting Stars have paid half of the transfer fee to Sunshine Stars for their forward, Ajani Ibrahim, reports completesportsnigeria.com.
Both clubs were involved in a bitter squabble over the player’s transfer earlier in the season with Sunshine Stars officials claiming the petite striker was not duly signed by the Oluyole Warriors.
The Status Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation however ordered that 3SC should pay N5m to their South West rivals as transfer fee for the player.
A top official of the former Glo Premier League champions hinted completesportsnigeria.com that they have paid part of the fee to the Owena Waves.
“We have paid half of the transfer fee (N2.5m) few days ago,” said the official who spoke to completesportsnigeria.com on the condition of anonymity.
“We were ordered to pay N5m and we agreed to pay instalmentally.
“We are a professional club and it’s our duty to oblige to our transaction on players transfer.”
In the same vein, the NFF status committee this week also ordered Sunshine Stars to pay Ibrahim a backlog of debts worth N3.5m.
