By Sab Osuji:
Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, a Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL side will name a new head coach today (Tuesday) or Wednesday, the club’s officials have informed Completesportsnigeria.com.
The incoming coach will replace erstwhile tactician, Gbenga Ogunbote, who moved to Giwa FC.
Ogunbote steered the technical ship of the Oluyole Warriors for one and a half seasons, following a switch from Garden City Blue Angels, Sharks, in the 2013/2014 mid-season.
“We”ll make public who our new coach, say on Tuesday January 26 or latest Wednesday January 27,” Raheed Balogun, General Manager of the club told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“We want a coach who every supporter and fan of the club will like and who will not only be able to lead the club to a new height, but as well be seen to have all what it takes to deliver,” Balogun said.
Balogun, a former Sunshine Stars of Akure, defunct Julius Berger and Dolphins of Port Harcourt Team Manager, also spoke on the club’s preparation for the coming 2015/2016 NPFL season.
“When the new technical adviser comes, he will be the one to advise us on whether the club will move into a close camp elsewhere or not, Balogun told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“But I do know that he would love a more serene atmosphere for an effective final preparation for the season.”
There have been suggestions in Ibadan that former Enyimba coach, Kadiri Ikhana has shown interest in the Shooting Stars plum job.
But Balogun waved off speculation that the CAF coach of the year 2003 is in contract talks with the club.
“Ikhana? I’m hearing that for the first time”, Balogun responded to Completesportsnigeria.com’s enquiry.
Shooting stars will get their 2015/2016 NPFL season underway on February 21 with a home fixture against Lobi Stars of Makurdi.SINGLE GUYS MUST READ THIS: 5 Things You Should NEVER Do When Meeting A GIRL YOU LIKE For The First Time If You EVER Want To DATE HER.
