Nigeria 62nd In FIFA Ranking, Cape Verde Africa’s No.1

Nigeria have moved up one place in the latest FIFA ranking for February which were announced on Thursday.
The 2013 African champions are now in the 62nd spot, up from 63rd which they occupied in January.
The also gained four points, from 543 to 547.
Nigeria are still outside the top 10 in Africa, in 11th place on the continent.
The country’s last matches were at the African Nations Championship where they won one, drew one and lost one before crashing out in the first round.
Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying opponents Egypt are ranked 53rd with 589 points, up two places from their January position.
The Super Eagles face the Pharaohs in back-to-back AFCON qualifiers, first in Kaduna on 25 March and in Alexandria on 29 March.
Egypt top Group G with six points, while Nigeria have four. Both have played two matches against the same opponents: Chad and Tanzania.
Surprisingly, Cape Verde, ranked 31st in the world, are the No.1 team in Africa, followed by Cote d’Ivoire who are ranked 36th in the world.
Algeria, Ghana and Tunisia are third, fourth and fifth in Africa.
