Nigeria Flying Eagles forward, Funsho Bamgboye, says the team is ready for battle ahead of next weekend’s 2017 Africa U-20 Nations Cup qualifying fixture against Burundi, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The African U-20 champions will begin their quest to book a place in Zambia 2017 when they take on the minnows in the first leg tie in Bujumbura next Saturday.
Emmanuel Amuneke’s charges have been perfecting strategies in Abuja ahead of the qualifier.
And following Thursday’s 2-1 win against the U-23 Eagles side, the former Aspire Academy of Qatar player said they are looking forward to the game against the Burundians.
“We have prepared well for the game against Burundi and we are confident of beating them home and away,” the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“We know Burundi is not a big name in African football but we must not underrate them.
“Our target is to successfully defend the U-20 title, but we must first qualify for the Nations Cup.”
The return leg fixture will come up on June 11.
