Lopetegui Appointed Spain’s New Head Coach

Former Porto manager Julen Lopetegui has been appointed as the new head coach of Spain.

The Spanish FA announced the appointment on their official website and Twitter handle on Thursday.

Lopetegui, 49, replaces Vincent Del Bosque, who quit after Spain’s disappointing Euro 2016 campaign.

Former goalkeeper Lopetegui featured for both Real Madrid and Barcelona in his playing career and coached the B team of Real Madrid as well as Spain U-19s, U-20s and U-21s.

He was sacked at Porto in January following poor results.
