Nigerian forward Chisom Chikatara has been included in the CAF Champions League matchday 6 best XI, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Chikatara scored on his first start for Wydad since his switch from Nigeria Professional Football League side, Abia Warriors, against Zambian side Zesco United on Wednesday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
The best XI is selected by the Confederation of Africa Football after every matchday to honour the most outstanding performers.
It Chikatara’s first game in the competition for the John Toshack-led side.
Three players from Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Enyimba, were also named in the side.
Forwar, Mfon Udoh who netted a brace for the Peoples Elephant in the 3-1 win against South African club Mamelodi Sundowns was picked alongside Chikatara as the two best strikers.
Udoh’s teammate Uche John who was also scored a spectacular freekick in the game was named among the best defenders.
Other defenders on the list are Sabry Rachel who plays for Egyptian champions Al Ahly Mahan Goua of ASEC Mimosas and Zesco United’s David Owino.
The third Enyimba player on the list is Nzube Anaemia who was rewarded for his impressive performance in the game against Sundowns.
He is joined by Zesco United duo John Ching’andu and Mischek Chaila as well as Sundown’s Percy Tau.
