5 Super Eagles Players Making Their Debuts For New European Clubs

The European League season returns this weekend after the long break, with several Nigerian players set to make their debuts after changing clubs during the transfer window. Completesportsnigeria.com's JOHNNY EDWARD highlights the top five  Super Eagles players who make debut for their respective new clubs on the weekend of  11th, 12th August and Sunday, August 13th 2017.

1. Kelechi Iheanacho  (Leicester City, England)

At £25m, Iheanacho is currently the most expensive Nigerian player this summer and he is not new to the English Premier League. Having played for Manchester City for two seasons, the 20 year old initial task will be to link up with form a good partnership with the club's first choice striker Jamie Vardy to add some sparkle to a pedestrian attack. But on his debut for the Foxes, the former U17 and U20

forward was largely anonimouys on his debut when he replaced Matthew James with eight minutes left to play.

2. William Troost-Ekong (Bursaspor, Turkey)

Nigeria defender,William Troost-Ekong gets a chance prove his doubters wrong in the colours of his new Turkish side Bursaspor. Ekong made only nine appearances for KAA Gent last season after rejoining his parent club from a two year loan spell at FK Haugesund. Ekong, making his league debut Bursaspor on Friday August 11, could not help his side from slumping to an opening day defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir on Friday.

3. Elderson Echiejile (Sivasspor,Turkey)

Nigeria's first choice left back Elderson Echiejile will be desperate to banish a rather terrible football season last year playing for two teams  (Standard Liege and  Sporting Gijón) managing only 10 appearances. Currently on a seasons loan deal Sivasspor from French Champions, AS Monaco Echiejile is expected to make his debut on  Saturday August 12 away to Akhisar Belediye Genclik Ve Spor.

4. Imoh Ezekiel (Konyaspor,Turkey)

Three years ago Imoh Ezekiel made a shock move to the Qatari League for a whooping sum of £9m from Standard Liege. But after several loan spells back to Standard Liege and Anderletch, Ezekiel finally made a return  to Europe, teaming up with Konyaspor who won the Turkish Super Cup last Sunday. Ezekiel barring any last minute hitch, will make his league debut for the Konyaspor away to Trabzonspor.

5. Mikel Agu (Bursaspor, Turkey)

A promising 21-year-old defensive midfielder is on his way up the cadre after securing a loan move to Bursaspor, seeking regular action. Having made two unofficial appearances for the Super Eagles Agu must try harder now he is in Turkey for good.
