CAN ENYIMBA END ABIA WARRIORS JINX?
Enyimba’s quest to win a record seventh Glo Premier League title will be put to the test when they confront local rivals Abia Warriors on Sunday in Umuahia.
The Peoples Elephant are yet to beat Abia Warriors since their fellow Abia club made it to the top flight two seasons ago.
They lost 1-0 at home to Ladan Bosso’s men in their first meeting, with the return fixture ending in a 3-3 draw.
Both sides also shared spoils once again when they met earlier this season. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.
CAN BAYELSA UNITED BREACH WARRI WOLVES’ DEFENCE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN EIGHT GAMES
Title chasing Warri Wolves have succeeded in making the Warri City Stadium a slaughter slab for their opponents. The Seasiders have not conceded a goal at the venue in their last seven games, scoring 18 goals in the process.
The last time their defence was breached in a home fixture was in a week 19 tie against Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt.
Bottom placed Bayelsa United will seek to put an end to that impressive run.
GIWA SEEK TO MAINTAIN SIX-GAME UNBEATEN STREAK
Giwa Football Club of Jos are the most in-form team in the league at the moment. The Jos-based outfit have not tasted defeat in six straight games.
That remarkable run has seen them climb to the second position on the log. That run will be put to the test when they confront Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Sunday.
AKWA UNITED, BAYELSA UNITED, DOLPHINS, LOBI STARS SEARCH FOR FIRST AWAY WIN
The quartet alongside El-kanemi Warriors are the only teams yet to pick wins on the road this season.
While victory against Warri Wolves would be meaningless for Bayelsa United who look destined for a return to the National League, it will be vital for Akwa United, Dolphins and Lobi Stars who are still fighting hard to beat the drop.
CAN KWARA UNITED KEEP CLEAN SLATE AGAINST TARABA
Kwara United have conceded the most goals (nine) in the last six rounds in the league. They must put an end to that record if they are to beat the drop.
