Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, was not included in Leicester City’s matchday squad as they were held to a 0-0 Premier League draw by Southampton at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
Musa, who has been included in the Nigeria squad to face Zambia in a World Cup qualifier next week, was also not in the Leicester squad last weekend when the champions lost 4-1 to Manchester United.
Leicester have failed to win their last two league game.
Riyad Mahrez almost gave Leicester a seventh minute lead but his curler was blocked away.
In the ninth minute Charlie Austin went close for Southampton with a glancing header but Kasper Schmeichel made a comfortable save.
Austin had a chance for Southampton on 15 minutes, hitting the upright after a powerful angle drive.
In the 26th minute Southampton made an early substitution with Cuco Martina replacing Cedric Soares who went off with a knock.
Leicester had a glorious chance in the 29th minute following a sloppy pass by virgil Van Dijk but but Southampton’s defenders made double block off Islam Slimani and Jamie Vardy.
One minute before half time, Dusan Tadic tried an ambitious effort which went high and wide.
In the 55th minute Mahrez sent in a free-kick to the far corner but Wes Morgan couldn’t connect.
Oriol Romeu went close for Southampton on 59 minutes only to see his effort delfected away for a corner.
On 62 minutes Schmeichel got down to stop Nathan Redmond’s goal bound shot.
A minute later Austin pounced on a loose ball but his cheeky lop was saved by Schmeichel.
Two minutes later Danny Drinkwater held off Romeu but his left foot strike hit the side netting.
Leicester made a double change with Demarai Gray and Shinji Okazaki replacing Vardy and Marc Albrighton in the 66th minute.
In the 68th minute Drinkwater sent in a 25-yard half-volley which was saved by Fraser Forster.
Robert Huth almost broke the deadlock on 74 minutes but his glancing header off Christian Fuchs’ throw was clawed away by Forster.
In the 85th minute James Ward-Prowse was presented with a decent chance off a deflected cross but blazed his effort over the bar.
And in the 94th minute Leonardo Ulloa almost won it at the death but fired over the bar.
