Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile has his sights set on an away win in Spain when his Belgian club Standard Liege take on Celta Vigo in the UEFA Europa League clash on Thursday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Both teams played out a 1-1 draw in Belgium at the Maurice Duf stadium on matchday 1 with Echiejile featuring for 86 minutes in that encounter.
The Nigerian international, 28, has featured in three of his team’s outings this season in the competition.
“It won’t be easy to win in Spain against Celta Vigo but that is what we must do to stand a chance of qualifying for the next round,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
Standard are currently second in the Group G table with a superior goal difference of a goal ahead of their hosts.
“It’s a great competition and we’ll look to go as far as we can,” Echiejile added.
“Every player is looking out for one another which is they way it should be.”
