Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme was on target for Israeli club Hapoel Be’er Sheva who rallied from two goals down to beat Inter Milan 3-2 in their Europa League clash on Thursday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Inter led 2-0 at half time with Mauro Icardi and Marcelo Brozovic hitting the back of the net.
Lucho Maranho pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 58th minute, while Nwakaeme levelled scores for his side from the spot 19 minutes from time.
It his first goal in the competition for Be’er Sheva.
Ben Sahar grabbed the winner for the home side deep into stoppage time.
Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu was also involved from start to finish in the encounter.
At the Ghelamco – Arena, Moses Simon and Anderson Esiti were in action for Belgian club Gent who played out a 2-2 draw against Sporting Braga of Portugal.
Simon came off for Brecht Dejaegere 20 minutes from time, Jeremy Perbet took the place of Esiti five minutes from time.
In Romania, Olympic Eagles star, Aminu Umar, was not listed by Osmanlispor who lost 2-1 to Steau Bucharest.
Raheem Lawal however started on the bench and took the place of Adam Maher a minute after the hour mark.
