By Adeboye Amosu:
FC IfeanyiUbah will be without key duo Isaac Loute and Onyekachi Akakem in Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, second leg fixture against Egyptian club Al- Masry SC, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Loute and Akakem, Completesportsnigeria.com learnt, were not granted visas by the Egyptian Embassy after club officials submitted their travelling documents late.
“We are disappointed Loute and Onyekachi could not travel with us to Egypt for the game,” a reliable source at the club informed Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Both players were injured before the first leg game last weekend and we never expected them to recover in time to be part of the squad.
“So, we did not submit their international passports to the Egyptian Embassy along with those of the their colleagues.
“We only did that after the game last Sunday and as a result, they were not issued visas to travel with the team.”
Former Benin Republic international Loute came in as a substitute in the first leg and provided the assist for the Anambra Warriors only goal of the encounter scored by Cameroonian midfielder, Tamen Medrano.
Akakem was an unused substitute in the game.
