MFM’s Onuwa: Victory Over Plateau Utd Felt Like Beating Chelsea

By Johnny Edward:

MFM FC star Chukwuka Onuwa feels the Nigeria Professional League victory over leaders Plateau United was like beating Chelsea of the English Premier League, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

MFM maintained their winning streak at home by defeating Plateau United 2-1 in a keenly contested game at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.

Onuwa, who returned to the starting line-up for the Olukoya Boys after being rested in their midweek draw away to Wikki Tourists, laid the decisive pass that led to the penalty awarded to MFM which top scorer Stephen Odey converted for his 10th league goal of the season.

“The win for us is great and it’s like beating Chelsea because we just defeated the NPFL league leaders,” Onuwa told Completesportsnigeria after the game.

The midfielder also believes his teammate Stephen Odey can finish the season as top scorer if he maintains his goalscoring form.

“He’s a great guy and he is humble. He will go far if he continues this way,” Onuwa added.
