AAG Qualifier: U23 Eagles Target Double Over Gabon

Nigeria’s Olympic side, Dream Team VI,will battle Gabon today in the second leg of the 2015 All Africa Games qualifiers at the Abuja National Stadium in Abuja.

The Samson Siasia tutored side defeated the Gabonese 4-1 in the first leg in Libreville. with goals from 3SC youngster Ajayi Oluwafemi, Peter Onyekachi and Ogenekaro Etebo.

Reports emerged during the week that the players had expressed anger following refusal of the Nigeria Football Federation to pay them the agreed $1,000 winning bonus for the win in Libreville.

Siasia however insists that his charges are only concerned about the game and not monetary incentives.

“The NFF officials did not say they will not pay the boys. Nobody complained about being paid $1,000. too,”

“We don’t want to talk about money because that will distract the players. The boys are not complaining about money and that is the most important things.

“These boys are very young boys that are looking towards a bright future. We are giving them the right platform and trust me, they will all tell you it’s not about money,” he said.
