Nigeria U-23s midfielder, Kingsley Sokari, has dedicated his first goal in the on-going 11th All Africa Games football event to his fans, while Junior Ajayi is very delighted to have also scored.
The Enyimba of Aba midfielder capped a brilliant performance with a goal, chipping the ball over the head of on-rushing Ghanaian goalkeeper, Richard Ofori, with just three minutes before the final whistle as Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-0 on Wednesday.
“I’m happy to score in my second match for Nigeria. I scored in my game for the U-20s and today I have also scored in my first All Africa Games for my country,” Sokari told completesportnigeria.com here in Brazzaville.
“I am very happy and I give God the glory while I dedicate the goal to my fans for their support and prayers for me.”
Shooting Stars striker Ajayi has also expressed delight at scoring Nigeria’s opening goal at the on-going All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville.
After a scoreless first half, Ajayi finished off a brilliant pull out from the right hand channel to give the U-23Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute of the game.
Ajayi told Complete Sports moments after the game that scoring a goal in a competition like this gives him confidence.
“It was a tough match, the Ghanaians were strong physically but thank God we stayed focusec and got the job done.
“Personally, I am happy scoring a goal today, especially the first goal which is always important in a any match.”
