Nigeria National League promotion contenders ABS Ilorin FC have revealed they will not appeal the decision of the Organizing and Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation which ordered for a replay of the NNL match day 14 clash between them and visiting Gateway United of Abeokuta, Completesportsnigeria.comreports.
Gateway refused to play their final match day game away to ABS Ilorin last Sunday, citing inadequate security.
The centre referee thus performed the walk-over ceremony, but Gateway protested to NFF. The O&D Committee sat on Thursday and decided the game should be replayed at the same venue but behind closed doors.
Despite an initial outrage, ABS Ilorin confirmed exclusively to Completesportsnigeria.com on Friday that they are not favourably disposed to launching an appeal against the replay order.
“We’ve been meeting since morning. As I speak to you, we are yet to conclude our top level meeting on the matter but I don’t think we will appeal against the verdict,” Alloy Chukwuemeka, Director of Football, ABS Ilorin FC told Completesportsnigeria.com Friday afternoon.
“We have until 5pm Friday to push our appeal but I don’t think we have any plans for that except to focus on the replay game which comes up next week Wednesday.”Unblock the FIFA World Cup with ExpressVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
