Ex-international, Mutiu Adepoju has expressed happiness over the performance of the country’s U-17 Golden Eaglets at the ongoing CAF U-17 Championship in Niger, saying the future is bright for the players.
The team handled by Coach Emmanuel Amuneke defeated Zambia 3-1 at the weekend to book a place in the semi final stage and also qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in Chile, a performance Adepoju believes was a reward for hard work.
“I am happy with what the U-17 players are doing in Niger and that is an assurance that the future is bright for our football because in few years time, these players would have matured and take over from the old ones we have now”, begins the former Super Eagles player.
“The match against Guinea was a bit tough for them and that is why you saw them came out with all they have to beat Zambia 3-1, I must also praise the coaching crew because they must have done a lot to psyche the boys up and today we can all see the good work they have done on the team.
Adepoju however advised the players not to be carried away saying they should not rest until they have won the trophy.
“My advice for them is that they should remain focused and listen to everything the coaches ask them to do, we are waiting to see the trophy in Nigeria and I pray that God help them to win it.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria
