Former Nigeria international, Mutiu Adepoju, has stated that the current state of the Super Eagles may not be unconnected to reasons why tops clubs are not keen on Nigerian players.
“I don’t think there has been a lot of movement on the part of Nigerian players,” Adepoju told completesportsnigeria.com.
“There are some that have moved but it hasn’t been that much.
“But for me, I feel one of the reasons why we don’t get to see much of Nigerian players moving to big clubs during the transfer market has to do with the current state of the national team.
“We’ve not been doing well and that I believe is why big clubs don’t show interest in Nigerian players.”
Meanwhile, Nigerian players who have moved during this transfer market include Anthony Ujah from Mainz 05 to Werder Bremen, Leon Balogun who switched from newly promoted Darmsdart to Mainz 05, Michael Babatunde crossing over to Dnipro from Volyn.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria.
