The quartet of Salomon Kalou, Gervinho, Seydou Doumbia and Serge Aurier are among top Cote d’Ivoire stars that will be in Port Harcourt for this weekend’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone.
The Elephants, who will be without reigning African Player of the year, Yaya Toure and Cheick Tiote, will also bring the likes of Max Gradel, Sylvain Gbohou, Adama Traore, Serey Die, Serge N’Guessan, Mamadou Bagayoko for the game.
According to president of the Federation Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) Augustin Sidy Diallo on Tuesday the delegation will be in Port Harcourt on Friday morning aboard a chartered airplane.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that the Sierra Leone delegation of 33 persons, led by president of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Isha Johansen, will fly into Port Harcourt on Wednesday evening aboard an Arik Air plane.
Sunday’s match at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium is the first time Nigeria is hosting a competitive international involving two other countries.
