Following the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, the team has apologised to Nigerians while the Nigeria Football Federation have lined up a series of international friendly games for the team in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, which start in October.
According to the Super Eagles official Twitter handle, the NFF expressed sadness after the Eagles were eliminated from next year’s AFCON following their 1-0 loss to Egypt in Alexandria on Tuesday.
But they promised to put the disappointment behind them and focus on the 2018 World Cup qualifier.
“We apologize for our inability to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. We gave this campaign our best efforts but sadly fell short,” the handle wrote on Wednesday.
“We know how disappointed our fans are and we feel their pains too but we ask that they forgive us and never stop getting behind us in future.
“Now, our focus is to get these setbacks behind us and quickly regroup for the fast approaching 2018 World Cup Qualifiers starting in October.
“The NFF have already commenced the process of getting top quality friendly matches to prepare the team for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.”Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria
