Nigeria's U-17 coach Manu Garba has invited 40 players for open screening ahead of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to Niger Republic, Completesportsnigeria.com reports .
The qualifier against Niger Republic, comes up on the first weekend of August, while the reverse fixture is fixed for a fortnight later.
The 2017 U-17 AFCON will be hosted by Madagascar from the 2nd to 16th of April.
According to thenff.com, the screening will begin on Monday, 30th May 2016, at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project in Abuja.
And according to Garba, the open screening would last for three weeks starting with the 40 invited players scouted across the country.
"We don't have much time to waste and we are going to use just three weeks for open screening in order to have a close look at the 40 invited players,"
"It will also be an opportunity for us to see others since many uninvited players may also turn up, based on our previous experience."
Meanwhile, officials have warned that players coming for the screening exercise would take care of their personal welfare in terms of accommodation and feeding.
