The agent who brokered Efe Ambrose deal to Scottish giant Glasgow Celtic says the 26-year old defender will not be leaving the team after they rejected an offer for him from Greek side Olympiacos.
According to Dudu Dahan, Olympiacos tabled a bid of 3 million pounds for the AFCON 2013 winner this month but it was rejected by Celtic and no further offer is expected from the Greek champions.
He said that there was no prospect of any other transfer taking place before Monday’s deadline, insisting: “Efe is staying at Celtic”, he told STV Sports.
Several clubs have been linked with a move for the World Cup defender, including English Premiership sides, but his future remains at Celtic Park at least until summer.
Ambrose no longer a regular this season at Parkhead after the returning of Jason Denayer from injury has won two Scottish titles and a Scottish Cup, making 80 appearances and scoring five times since joining the team in 2012 from Israeli side MS Ashdod.
In October he signed a fresh four year deal with Celtic tying him to the club until the summer of 2017.
