Shooting Stars forward Ajani Ibrahim says his side have put behind them their painful exit from the Federation Cup and are now fully concentrated on avoiding relegation in the Nigeria Professional Football League, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Oluyole Warlords were edged out of the competition 3-2 on penalties by Rivers United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Wednesday.
Now with no chance of winning silverware, the former Sunshine Stars player told Completesportsnigeria.com that their major focus is to stay in the top flight at the end of the season.
“It was painful to go out of the competition (Federation Cup) after giving our all, but we have to move on from that and concentrate on the league,” Ajani said.
“What is important now is for us to make sure we stay up and not go on relegation at the end of the day.
“We have done well since coach Gbenga Ogunbote returned to the club and I’m sure we will continue to improve under him.”
