Enyimba defender Chima Akas says the club must strive to start their campaign in the group stages of the CAF Champions League on a winning note to boost their chances of making it to the semi- finals of the competition, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Peoples Elephant will host Egyptian side Zamalek in their first match in the group stages on Sunday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
And ahead of the game, Akas who is expected to play a key role for Paul Aigbogun’s men in the game has called on his team mates to go all out for a win in the encounter.
“The group is a difficult one and for us to make it to the last four, we must start on a good note,” Akas said.
“We have to make sure we secure three points in the game against Zamalek as that will put us in a good position ahead of the other games in the group.
“Lately we have not done well in the league, but we hope to put that behind us on Sunday.”
Algerian club Entente Setif and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa will meet in the other Group B fixture.
