Akpala Ends Three Month Goal Drought In Turkey

Nigeria striker Joseph Akpala has ended his run of three months without a goal for his Turkish Super League side Karabukspor as he scored in a 7-1 loss at Bursaspor on Saturday.

Karabukspor are plunged in relegation zone, placed 16th with 24 points from 30 games.

The former Werder Bremen forward was a 33rd minute substitute for Karabukspor when he replaced Faith Candan and scored after just six minutes on the pitch to take the scores to 2-1.

The Jos-born striker’s last goal for Karabukspor was on February 6, 2015 in a 2-2 draw at Istanbul BB.

He has now scored four goals in the league and one in the cup.
