….Blames poor officiating for loss against Leopards
Warri Wolves goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has expressed optimism that his team can overturn the 3-0 deficit they suffered against AC Leopards in the thrid round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
In the first leg played in DR Congo on Sunday Warri Wolves, who are the only surviving Nigerian club side on the continent, will have to score at least four goals without conceding to stand any chance of progressing into the group stage.
In an interview with Sports Radio, 88.9, Brila FM Akpeyi blamed poor officiating for the team's loss.
"I played against AC Leopards during my time at Heartland. But in Sunday's match, the referee killed the game for us, because the poor officiating affected us. Though they scored two good goals in the first half, we scored a good goal which was wrongly ruled out, then he awarded them a dubious penalty.
"I believe the tie is not over, I am confident we can overturn it in the return leg in Warri."
