By James Agberebi:
Former Nigeria international Jonathan Akpoborie has called for the appointment of a foreign coach for the Super Eagles.
Akpoborie made this known following the Eagles 1-0 loss against Uganda in Wednesday’s international friendly match in Uyo.
Speaking with Sports Radio, 88.9 Brila FM, Akpoborie blasted the Eagles for their poor display in Wednesday’s game.
“There is nobody who saw the Uyo pitch that will not play good football. The Ugandans were well organised, they had a game plan, but in our own case, our players played without a game plan, they played like ‘street boys’.
“I think it’s time we appoint a foreign coach, we definitely need a foreign coach and anybody who says we don’t need a foreign coach doesn’t know what he is saying,” Akpoborie blasted.
Meanwhile, the Eagles will take on South Africa on Sunday in Nelspruit in another friendly game.
