Former Golden Eaglet, Jonathan Akpoborie, has advised Golden Eaglets coach Emmanuel Amuneke to ensure that his players are mentally and physically fit for the quarter-final match against Brazil at the ongoing 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.
Speaking to Completesportsnigeria.com ahead of Sunday's match, Akpoborie said he believes that the Nigerian cadets need to approach the game like a cup final, saying Brazil is not in the class of teams that should be handled without proper preparation and quality technical strategies.
"It is always difficult to play Brazil and everybody expects the Golden Eaglets to win on Sunday. One thing I will say is that we are going to win but nobody should expect the team to beat Brazil the same way they beat Australia or Chile, it will be tight but I see Nigeria winning," the former Super Eagles striker, who was a key member of the 1985 squad that won the inaugural U-17 World Cup, said.
"The team has been doing well and improving with every game they have played except the Croatia match which they lost, but if you saw them against Australia, you will agree with me that they have really improved.
"I expect them to play better after the victories they have recorded so far in the tournament. They just have to play Brazil like a cup final because they are not an easy team and our players must be mentally and physically fit for the match."Uncover how I make $750 weekly on Facebook using never been revealed Social Media tools.
