England U-21 national team coach, Gareth Southgate on Thursday named four Nigerian-born youngsters in his team to face Switzerland next weekend in the Euro U-21 qualifiers,Completesportsniger
Southgate made the announcement on Thursday when he released a list of 22 players for the qualifiers.
Arsenal's Chuba Akpom who is on loan at Hull City has played three times for the U-21 England side and has scored twice for the team.
Dominic Ayodele Solanke who is on the books of Chelsea and has made a slew of first team appearances for the Blues has played twice for the Young Three Lions.
Dominic Iorfa jnr, the son of former Nigeria international, Dominic Iorfa, whom the father has assured will be ready to play for the Super Eagles when he turns 23 has also played twice for the English team though he once trained with the senior English
national side, while Liverpool's Jordon Ibe who has stated that he will wait for a chance to represent England at the senior level, has played thrice for the England U-21.
The duo of Dele Alli and Ross Barkley who play for Tottenham Hotspur and Everton respectively and have Nigerian roots but chose to represent England at the senior level, were as expected, named in the team to play two international friendlies against Germany and Holland.
