Super Eagles goalkeeper Dele Alampasu insists his Portuguese club CD Feirense will not let their chance of gaining promotion skip away in their final league game against Chaves.
Alampasu who has made 12 appearances for Feirense as a substitute fears Chaves who have already gained promotion to the Portuguese Primeira Liga could be a banana spill and deny them a return to the top flight division.
"It would be nice, come the start of May, to confirm our Portuguese Primeira Liga status," Alampasu told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"It would be fantastic to play in the elite division, but we must beat Chaves by a goal margin to achieve that.
"But there is plenty of work between now and then, so there is no point thinking about the longer aim because it is very much the here now. That is going to determine whether the dream is going to happen."
"There is no point thinking about other teams and results. It's a matter of us picking up that win to secure our promotion place."
Feirense have a superior goal difference and a better head-to-head than fourth placed Portimonense who are also in contention for promotion, and Alampasu is banking on their winning mentality to achieve this feat.
He added: "We have to concentrate on ourselves and do the best in the game we have, that is the mentality of the club at the moment."
