Alimi Sure Super Eagles Will Qualify For 2018 World Cup

By Adeboye Amosu:

Super Eagles defender Jamiu Alimi has assured that the team will pick the qualification ticket for the FIFA  2018 World Cup in Russia, reports

Gernot Rohr's side will begin the race for the ticket  against Zambia on October 3 in Lusaka.

They will also face African giants, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon  and Algeria, in the same group.

Expectations are low following the Eagles' failure to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Gabon.

But following the side's impressive display against Tanzania in Saturday's 1-0 victory in the 2017 AFCON qualifier, the Kano Pillars defender is hopeful they will be among the 32 participants at the next World Cup.

"I want to assure Nigerians that we won't fail  them this time. It's a new era, we are focused, ambitious and ready to give our best," the centre-back wrote on his Twitter handle.
