National boxing coach Tony Konyegwachi has disclosed that boxers are likely to hit camp early June in preparation for the All Africa Games in Congo Brazaville.
He disclosed this in a chat with completesportsnigeria.com on Monday.
Konyegwachi also said indications are that the boxers will camp in Lagos.
"We are waiting for the swearing-in of the new president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, once that is done, our preparation will kick off probably early June," the former Olympian told completesportsnigeria.com.
"And also, it is likely that we open camp in Lagos, but that would be decided by the NBF president, Brigadier-General Kenneth Munimah, in an executive meeting."
He stated that he has been keeping a close eye on the boxers, expressing optimism that they will win gold medals at the games.
"I have been monitoring the progress of the boxers and I can say they are doing okay. And I am assuring Nigerians that we will win gold medals at the All Africa Games, both in the men's and women's categories."
