Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh will hand Celtic defender Efe Ambrose a starting role in Sunday’s international friendly against Cameroun in Belgium, a top source in the team has informed Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ambrose, who was not in the starting line-up in the 2-0 loss to DR Congo on Thursday, will partner William Troost-Ekong in the heart of the team’s defence.
“The coach wasn’t impressed with the make-shift centre halves he fielded so Efe comes in for the game against Cameroon and Balogun will return to his natural position at right back,” the source said.
Ambrose has been appointed as the spokesman for the squad after the players elected new leaders following the exit of former captain Vincent Enyeama.
Ahmed Musa is the new captain, while Ogenyi Onazi and Kenneth Omeruo are the vice-captains.
