By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:
After weeks of delay, Completesportnigeria can report that the French embassy finally issued visas to coaches and Sunshine Stars goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa for the two friendly international matches the Super Eagles will play against Mali and Luxembourg in France.
But conspicuously missing in the team that left Abuja on Tuesday for France was Nigeria Football Federation technical director Amodu Shuaibu who was billed to supervise the young home-based coaches that will handle the Eagles’ two friendly matches on Friday and 1 June.
“I am not going because they did not issue me a visa to enable me to accompany the team to France,” former Nigeria coach Amodu told Completesportdnigeria.com. “I was supposed to supervise and guide the coaches but since the French embassy in their wisdom deemed me surplus to the team, I stay back.”
Nine memebers of the technical crew and backroom staff including Salisu Yusuf, Kennedy Boboye, Imama Amakapabo, Aloysius Agu, Dayo Enebi, Patrick Paschal, Toyin bitoye, team doctor and physio are among those who got their visas to France with the NFF protocol picking five only on Tuesday morning.
