Victor Anichebe has challenged his Sunderland teammates to build on their first win of the season in the English Premier League at Bournemouth in their next home game against Hull City, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 28-year old scored and won a penalty as The Black Cats rallied from a goal down to beat Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium last Saturday.
It was Anichebe's first goal for David Moyes' men following his arrival in the summer after he was released by West Bromwich Albion.
The formerEverton striker is hopeful they can pick another win when they face fellow relegation battlers, Hull City at the Stadium of Light after the international break.
"The manager has been on to us since the Arsenal game," the Beijing Olympics silver medalist told Safc.com.
"It wasn't a great game and on Monday (before Bournemouth) he said we needed to forget about it and he just told us straight, 'Saturday we need to win'.
"It's simple as that. We were on it all week in training and it was super hard. He told us that it was just a must – win game and that is the mentality we have to have from on.
" We have to do what we need to do and we have to really concentrate on it. We have worked extremely hard (to get the win), it shows and it paid off so hopefully that can continue."
