West Bromwich Albion striker, Victor Anichebe says he is hoping their 0-0 draw against former club, Everton on Monday can spur them on to avoid the drop from the premier league this season.
The 26-year old, a former Everton star started the game at Goodison Park but couldn’t help the Baggies to a win, but insists that the draw was a very good outcome for them and believes they can build on it.
“I thought we played well, we kept the ball well but it was a difficult game. Maybe we should have put a few chances away, but we didn’t.
“But I still think we can build on that because going to Goodison Park wasn’t always going to be easy but I’m happy we got a result there and hopefully we can build on that,” he said.
The Nigerian lasted 79 minutes on the pitch, before being replaced by compatriot, Brown Ideye. Anichebe also went on to state that he hopes they can get a win in their next game against Tottenham Hotspurs.
“Hopefully we can carry on the spirit to the next game and get a win, because we have to,” he added.
The big striker moved to West Brom two summers ago, and has enjoyed more playing time, but is yet to taste international football in almost five years.Unblock the FIFA World Cup with ExpressVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
