Scotland international and Watford winger, Ikechi Anya, has expressed optimism that Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo will soon start scoring again after going two games without finding the back of the net.
On Sunday, Watford recorded their third straight draw after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Southampton at the Vicarage Road, with Ighalo in action.
And speaking to the club’s official website after the draw, Anya says he is convinced that despite failing to score in their last two games, it is just a matter of time before the Hornets start finding the back of the net on a regular basis once again.
“I think it was the other way around last year, everyone was very complimentary of our firepower and maybe it was our defence that was the weak link,” Anya, who has Nigerian heritage, said.
“But now we’ve sorted that out, and we know with the likes of Troy and Ighalo that we’re going to get goals, it s just a matter of time.
“As long as we’re keeping clean sheets we’re on the right path.”
Ighalo scored on his EPL debut after finding the back of the net against Everton in a 2-2 draw.
Watford’s next game is against table toppers, Manchester City on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.Uncover how I make $750 weekly on Facebook using never been revealed Social Media tools.
