By Johnny Edward:
Nigerian youngster Alex Iwobi was involved as Arsenal returned to the summit of the English Premier League on Sunday after they played out a goalless draw against Stoke City.
Osaze Odemwingie was left on the bench for the entire duration of the match at the Britannia Stadium.
The Gunners started the game comfortably but could only forced a save out of Jack Butland in goal for the Potters in the 21st minute when Oliver Giroud saw his effort parried by the England No.2 goalie.
Butland was also called to action again nine minutes later when he tipped over Oxlade-Chamberlain’s deflected shot for a corner.
Desperate to win the game, Arsene Wenger pulled off Theo Walcot for his Nigerian teen sensation Iwobi with 20 minutes left to play.
It was Iwobi’s third EPL appearance for the Gunners since signing a professional deal at the club.
Next up for the Gunners is a London derby clash against Chelsea at the Emirates stadium.
A point means that Arsenal return to the top ahead of Leicester City on goal difference, while Stoke remain seventh.
